To celebrate the completion of Griff Rhys Jones’s 18-year restoration of his Pembrokeshire farm, holiday cottage company Under the Thatch is giving away a weekend stay at Bwthyn Trehilyn for six people.
Bwthyn is a beautifully restored Georgian millhouse in 75 acres of the Strumble Head coastline between St Davids and Fishguard. Griff’s impeccable restoration of the house was the subject of the BBC TV series A Pembrokeshire Farm and Bwthyn has been named ‘Best in Wales’ by CN Traveller and in the Top 30 UK Self-Catering by The Times.
Griff and family regularly use the house throughout the year and exclusively let through Under the Thatch when they’re away, allowing the house to support its local economy year-round, rather than as a ‘second home’. Pets are welcome, and will love being by the sea.
Inside you’ll find three great bedrooms, two good bathrooms and a cosy fire. Outside there are acres of private walks, play swings for the kids, and even an EV electric car charger. Walk over to Strumble Head lighthouse to watch dolphins and whales, or just three miles (nine minutes) to gorgeous Abermawr beach.
The prize on offer is a three-night weekend stay (arrive Friday, depart Monday) or a four-night mid-week stay (arrive Monday, depart Friday) at Bwthyn Trehilyn in Pembrokeshire for any available break completed by 22 March 2024, excluding the week 29 December 2023 to 05 January 2024 (New Year’s Eve). Up to six guests may stay using the bedrooms as advertised (two doubles, one twin bedroom). Pets are welcome and the usual pet surcharge will apply.
Visit Under the Thatch to see Griff Rhys Jones’ farm.
