Love Island stars launch tasty treat to celebrate the reality TV show’s return

Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay – who featured in the 2017 series of Love Island and won over the nation with their bromance – have gone into business with Just Eat to celebrate the return of Love Island.
For one night only, Just Eat, who are the official partners of the series, have coupled up with Love Island legends Chris and Kem to rustle up the first ever Love Island restaurant; Absolute Melts where fans can order a limited edition Absolute Melt Toastie.
Summer is finally here as Laura Whitmore returns to our screens to host this summer’s new series of Love Island, starting Monday, 28 June.
Why ‘Absolute Melts?’
As fans of the hit show will know, toast and toasties have been at the heart of many Love Island romances over the years. Toast has been the medium of choice for everything from apologies and romantic declarations to winning over a new bombshell to arrive in the villa. Over time it has become the unofficial love language of the islanders.
Remember Chris Taylor’s ‘sorry’ toast to Harley Brash in the morning? Tommy Fury rustling up an open cheese sandwich cut into small love heart shapes, for his date Maura Higgings back in 2019 with love rival Molly-Mae looking on?
The toastie has a special place in Love Island relationships.
Choose from iconic Love Island phrases including ‘Loyal’, ‘My type on paper’ and ‘It is what it is’. Other options include:
- ‘My type on paper’ – to let your crush know you’ve got the hots for them
- ‘Loyal’ – for those whose heads won’t get turned in Casa Amor
- ‘It is what it is’ – for when there’s nothing you can do about a situation.
Chris Hughes: “Like millions across the UK, I’m buzzing for the return of Love Island. It’s the ultimate summer feeling and our Absolute Melts toasties will give you a proper taste of villa life. We hope people crack on and order them while they can!”
Kem Cetinay: “These toasties are perfect for anyone currently grafting. Forget about laying it on Factor 50, these melts will let that special someone know where your head’s at and you never know, you may soon be coupling up.”
It’s not the first time Chris and Kem have gone into business together. After leaving the island, they released single Little Bit Leave It and have appeared together on a number of TV Shows including ITV2 spin off show Straight Outta Love Island, Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up To Cancer.
Love Island fans in London, Manchester and Birmingham will be able to order the £4.50 melts exclusively on Just Eat.
