Food, glorious food! It’s amazing to be able to dress up and go properly out-out again, supporting our restaurant industry, which it’s fair to say has been through a lot of late. But where can you enjoy a tasty feast and a few cheeky beverages while rubbing shoulders with your favourite TV, music and sports stars? Get booking at one of these top five UK hotspots
1. Sheesh
What stars won’t you spot at this Turkish hangout on the London/Essex border? This adults-only restaurant serves a range of mouth-watering dishes, from charcoal-cooked lamb chops and French corn-fed chicken breast, to calamari, lobster pasta and a wagyu rib-eye steak. Looking as decadent and luxurious as any London nightclub; as well as Mark and Michelle Wright you can expect to see Kate and Rio Ferdinand, Alexandra Burke and Ray Winstone all enjoying a meal there.
2. Rockwater Hove
Situated on the picturesque Western Esplanade of Hove seafront, Rockwater Hove is the ultimate boutique bar and restaurant to enjoy while celebrity spotting. Its roof terrace is the perfect place to sit and take in the spectacular sea views, enjoying an array of delicious seafood platters, charcuterie boards and plant-based delicacies, along with an extensive cocktail, wine and beer list. Plus, you might well see the likes of Saffron Barker and Sarah Willingham while you’re there.
3. Nando’s
Come on, who doesn’t indulge in a cheeky Nando’s? The celebs do – that’s for sure! Ed Sheeran loves the Afro-Portuguese-inspired cuisine so much he even wrote a song about it, with other fans including David Beckham, Ovie Soko and Perrie Edwards. Throughout lockdown the company was delivering its tasty meals via Deliveroo, and now the doors are open again we’ve been regularly visiting for a portion of halloumi sticks and half a chicken, complete with spicy rice and peri-salted chips. #doublecarbs
4. Brentwood Kitchen
This restaurant is bang in the capital of TOWIE-land, Brentwood – hence the name! – and has had so many celebs visit they’ve even got a Famous Faces highlights over on their Instagram! The eaterie, which serves delicious brunch, lunch and dessert options – ours is the their burger and chilli fries, please – has served Vicky Pattison, Olly Murs, Mario Falcone and Jesy Nelson, to name just a few.
5. Novikov Restaurant & Bar
When you want to go somewhere a bit fancy head to Novikov, a Mayfair establishment that boasts two distinct restaurants plus a stylish lounge bar. Its Asian restaurant has an open kitchen for a real wow factor, where you’ll get to see the chefs create your meal – we’ll take the Yakitori Skewers Selection. Then there’s the Italian Restaurant, offering regional Italian dishes with a contemporary twist. Fancy eating with the stars? No problem: Chloe Brockett, Harry Kane, Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney all like to drink and dine here.
