Celebrity food trends: How and what the stars eat to keep healthy and stay in shape
Editorial by Claire Muffet-Reece
Celebs are just like the rest of us: they love all things food and like nothing more than planning what they’re going to put in their bellies! Of course, they also have to watch what they eat to keep fit, but it’s good to see there are alternatives to surviving on plain, unexciting meals. Here are a few trends to follow so you can still enjoy exciting dishes and stay in shape.
Become a vegan and live a plant-based life like Lucy Watson
The Made in Chelsea star has long been a fan of the vegan lifestyle, to the point she’s even written her own cookbooks about the subject! Her latest read, Awakenings: A Guide to Living a Vegan Lifestyle, shows being vegan is more than just the food you eat: it’s the shoes on your feet, the clothes in your wardrobe, the contents of your cupboards and even what you keep in your make-up bag.
Try a week of purely juicing like Alesha Dixon
Ever tried juicing for a week? You’re missing out – besides helping you drop the pounds it’s also said to support a whole host of health complaints, from psoriasis and PMS to high blood pressure, cellulite and constipation. Alesha is just one of a long list of celeb fans who’s visited the Juice Master retreat out in Portugal – Vicky Pattison, Millie Mackintosh and Natasha Hamilton have also been spied there. Find out more how to juice from the comfort of your own home here.
Enjoy a grazing table like no other like Luisa Zissman
A little bit of what you fancy is never a bad thing – it is all about the right balance, at the end of the day. With this in mind check out the huge trend for grazing tables right now, taking a look at this spread served over at Luisa Zissman’s house. Laid on by specialist grazing company The Graze Guys, the breakfast set-up includes waffles, pancakes, danish, chocolate brownies and tons of berries. We literally cannot stop watching the video.
Take advantage of the sun and BBQ like Martine McCutcheon
It’s officially BBQ season – yippee! Soaking up the sun while snacking on a burger and a banger or two is what a British summer is all about, chucking in a glass or two of Pimm’s and an Aperol spritz for good measure. We’re pleased to see the celebs are also lighting up the grill and firing up the charcoal. Martine McCutcheon, Gemma Collins and Ryan Thomas all love enjoying some al fresco dining of late.
Reduce calories without affecting taste like Lucy Meck
If there’s a way of making something lower in calories – while also not compromising on taste – then we want to know about it. Sure, you can blitz a cauliflower and tell us using that as a base for a pizza works, but we’ve yet to be convinced. Step forward Lo-Dough, a convenient food made entirely from protein and fibre. By using Lo-Dough instead of traditional bread products; pizza, kebabs and burritos become dishes that fit into a balanced and nutritious diet. Just ask Lucy Meck and Nadia Sawalha, two celebs who are both fans of the brand.
